Instructor marking support zones on a projected candlestick chart

Who this is for

Active chart readers — equity, index, FX, or commodity — who already use candlestick charts but find their support levels fail too often or multiply without clear criteria. You should be comfortable identifying basic swing highs and lows before attending. If you are newer to charts, complete our Chart Reading Foundations course first.

What you will be able to do after

  • Mark support zones from swing low clusters rather than round numbers
  • Validate zones using touch count, wick penetration limits, and volume context
  • Check zone alignment across two timeframes
  • Write explicit invalidation rules before entering any trade
  • Distinguish first-touch bounces from confirmed retests
  • Size positions relative to zone width and stop distance
  • Maintain an annotation key that other readers can interpret
  • Remove invalidated zones with documented reasoning

Day-by-day outline

Day 1 — Zone construction

Strip charts to raw structure. Mark measurable swing lows. Cluster into zone bands. Introduce the minimum-touch requirement and zone width concept. Afternoon: guided exercise on a current market chart with group comparison.

Day 2 — Validation and retest behaviour

Retest framework: what a valid retest looks like versus a failing zone. Higher-timeframe alignment check. Volume at support — what it confirms and what it cannot. Afternoon: breakout rooms (online) or table groups (in-person) annotating the same chart independently.

Day 3 — Trade plans and personal review

Position sizing formula tied to zone width. One-page trade plan template. Each participant presents one chart for instructor review. Q&A on applying the framework to your specific markets and session hours.

Included in the fee

  • Printed zone mapping workbook and chart templates
  • Digital annotation key reference sheet
  • Personal chart review on day three (one chart per participant)
  • 30-day email follow-up for zone-related questions
  • Certificate of completion
  • Lunch and refreshments (in-person cohorts only)

Not included

  • Brokerage accounts, charting software subscriptions, or data feeds
  • Trade signals, stock picks, or ongoing alert services
  • Travel and accommodation for in-person attendees

Location and delivery

In-person sessions run at our classroom at 18 Alley 810 La Thanh, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi. Online cohorts use live video with shared chart screens and small-group breakout annotation. Both formats follow the same curriculum and include the personal chart review on day three.
